Review Policy

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY.
You need to include the book's summary and a website like Goodreads or Amazon, or the book's own website. If you can provide a sample chapter, that would be greatly appreciated.

Genres I will not read: young adult (here's why), poetry, erotica, LGBT, biographies, children’s fiction, self-help, religious, middle grade, magical realism. However...you might be able to convince me to read a book from one of those genres if you are very persuasive. And I mean extremely persuasive. But I will still probably say "no."
Genres judged case-by-case: sci-fi, romance, women’s fiction, graphic novels, literary fiction, thrillers, horror, paranormal, nonfiction.
Favorite genres (but still not an automatic read): fantasy, historical fiction, mystery, fiction.
I also enjoy classics, but why would you be asking me to review a classic?

If your genre is not listed, feel free to ask anyway. I can always say "no."

Reviews are posted on Goodreads and Netgalley (if applicable). They may be mentioned on my Instagram account too. (Since leaving this blog, I have moved to my Substack, where future reviews will appear.)

I’ll do my best to give each book a fair shot but if it doesn’t work out, I might write a post as to why I did not finish it. Any DNFs will be recorded on Goodreads.
I love, hate and feel ambivalent about books and my reviews will reflect those feelings. I always thank the publisher, author, or whomever, for the ARC.
I accept .mobi, .epub and PDF files. Physical copies of books are the best way to read, but since a dead drop is not practical and I don't have a P.O. box, you're just gonna have to send me a digital copy. Although it would never cross my mind to do this, you should know that I will not sell an ARC.
If I receive the book two months before publication I will try to have the review done before publication. This is not my job so I can't guarantee when a review will be up.
I reserve the right to never read, finish or blog about any book I receive.
