I had a decent reading year; let's take a look.
Total books: 39
E-book/ARCs: 19

TOP TWO BOOKS OF 2020
Cromwell is basically the best man ever and this book (and previous two books) illustrates him perfectly. I miss him and his wily mind.
What a great surprise this series is turning out to be. So far I like everything about it and I can’t wait to read the final books this year.
The Runners Up:
I’ve always been a fan of Steinbeck and this one, while on the sadder side, is still worth the read.
I’m always game for historical fiction, especially if it’s set during a time I know nothing about. The protagonist isn’t endearing, but the well-written history and engaging story negate the unlikable abbot.
Not as good as the second one but still an enjoyable and informative read.
I don’t read lots of sci-fi but this is a solid representation and it made me want to delve into the genre more.
Jane is what makes this book fly. Her levelheadedness and usefulness are a breath of fresh air in comparison to the stagnant feminist pool of today.
Also…Rochester.
My first-ever reread of HP is going well, but this one is the best so far.
The hilarity in these books is unique. The perfect books for when you need to be uplifted.
And the worst book of the year goes to:
What a flaming disappointment. I had such high hopes after enjoying the first book, but this one took up residence in the pits of despair. I have little reason to expect a great finale and may not even bother to read it. This will go down in the annals of my reading history as one of the worst sequels.
Second-place loser:
I didn’t actually read this cover to cover; I skimmed the last hundred pages but I got the gist. It’s a little foggy in my memory but I reread my review and was vividly reminded of my dislike. This will be my last Gaiman book.
Disappointments:
I’m sorry. Really. It just didn’t work for me.
I might try another of his books, but based off of this, he’s not the writer for me.
My Fair Lady is much better.
Which books would you put as the best or worst of your reading year?
